Cynthia Yancey, Clinical Social Worker Intern

I joined the Center for Grief and Trauma Therapy because I love to give people hope and join them in their healing journey. I’ve come to learn that loss is a natural part of life, and how we heal can predetermine how we navigate through life’s journey. I myself have experienced a significant amount of loss, so I know from experience the importance of having support that is valuable. Within the social service arena, I have embraced several roles; administrator, behavioral specialist consultant, case manager, and advocate. I greatly love being a therapist however because it positions me to engage in the recovery process with individuals, while empowering them to set the pace for how it looks.

I embrace a person-centered holistic approach in my therapeutic work as my desire is to create safety and comfort while addressing very real issues. It can be difficult grappling with painful emotions, but also very empowering to know that it is ok to not be ok. By providing a non-judgmental space, I encourage individuals to direct the course of their healing process through acceptance and commitment.

My passions are autism, trauma, depression, and loss. I have a wealth of experience helping people across settings, and I anticipate joining you on your path towards renewal, growth and freedom.
